A company tied to New York City-based JDS Development Group paid a combined $41.89 million for 13 properties in Miami Beach between May and June.  Between May 20 and Wednesday, the JDS affiliate acquired 61,846 square feet, or 1.4 acres, along Monad Terrace in Miami Beach. Miami Digs: Elysee – the Crown Jewel of Edgwater

The Next Miami spotted a tweet by broker Kinga Konsorska of Cervera Real Estate revealing the first rendering of a new, skinny condo tower coming to Edgewater called Elysee. They dug up some additional info. The 57-story project will only have one or two units per floor, for a total of 100 units, with prices beginning at $1.65 million each, and be designed by Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica. It will have a robotic parking garage as well as an ‘automobile concierge.’

Developers in Greater Downtown Miami are on pace to ultimately build as many new towers and units in this South Florida condo boom as they did during the last cycle. The possibility of matching the number of new condos from the last boom moved closer to reality last week, when development group NR Investments announced plans for what equates to the 60th new condo tower – named Canvas – in Greater Downtown Miami. Including Canvas, developers in this cycle are proposing nearly 18,000 units in Greater Downtown Miami, which stretches from the Julia Tuttle Causeway south to the Rickenbacker Causeway and Biscayne Bay west to I-95, according to the preconstruction condo projects website
