The Greater Miami Beach oceanfront town of Surfside is seeing an unprecedented boom in new luxury condominium properties being developed on older condominium, apartment and hotel beachfront locations.
The new condominium developments in Surfside are unique to many other Greater Miami-Dade beachfront areas developments as Surfside’s new condominium properties are not the large hi-rises we are most often seeing, but are much smaller “boutique” styled developments, thereby providing a more private condominium property to call home.
Smaller does NOT mean less luxurious, as a number of these new Surfside condominium developments are planned to have the same high quality details, features and amenities as those found in the much larger developments up and down the beach areas of Miami Beach, Sunny Isles Beach and up the coast.
One of the new condominium developments include the Chateau Ocean Condominium, being developed by the Chateau Group. This real estate investment and development entity, which is based in Hallandale Beach, recently spent $50 million to purchase a number of parcels in Surfside on which to build its latest luxury condo project, The Chateau Ocean. They are currently constructing the luxury Chateau Beach Residences Condominium just up the street directly on the ocean in Sunny Isles Beach.
The Chateau Ocean Surfside condominium project won approval at the end of 2012 from the Surfside Planning and Zoning/Design Review Board and was approved by the community’s commission in January 2013.
The Chateau Ocean condominium is being designed by the well known and award winning design firm Arquitectonica. Chateau Ocean will be 12 stories tall and could have as many as 85 units, although Manuel Grosskopf, co-owner of the Chateau Group has stated that it will probably have only 60 units.
This luxury condo project will be located in the 9300 block of Collins Avenue, on a prime beachfront 2.99 acre lot. The Chateau Ocean’s oceanfront location will give its future homeowners gorgeous views of the ocean and easy access to the sand and surf.
According to the most recently approved proposal given to the town’s commission, the Chateau Ocean will feature such amenities as;
– Private roof top decks with pools
– Multiple beachfront pools with lushly landscaped pool decks
– Private cabanas, lobby bar, poolside bar with outdoor dining areas available only for residents and their guests, 24-hour valet parking service and more amenities and features to be posted as the developer releases their complete plans.
Like most real estate projects in Miami, Chateau Ocean has adopted the latest trend by developers in the way condominiums are purchased in Miami, hard cash. Most reservations are being made by buyers from Russia, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela. Chateau Ocean located at 9365 Collins Avenue, is the latest approved condominium project by The Chateau Group coming to Surfside.
The 12 story condominium, will feature 60 ocean-front luxury residences, and will be designed by multiple award winner, Architectural firm Arquitectonica. The 2.99 acre site, where Chateau Ocean will be built, was recently purchased for $50 Million, and is currently occupied by the Best Western Hotel. Amenities at Chateau Beach will include private cabanas, manicured pool decks, ocean front pools, lobby bar, & a gourmet restaurant. Developer Chateau Group originates from Buenos Aires, Argentina where they’ve built several malls and condominiums like Chateau Libertador and Chateau Puerto Madero, They’ve also expanded to Uruguay to build Le Jardin, Milenium Tower, and The Beverly tower in the trendy Punta Del Este.
Owned and operated by Manuel Grosskopf and his father Sergio, Chateau has been actively involved in the Miami real estate market for over 10 years, they hold several key spots around the city which they hope to develop in the near future. Chateau Beach in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida is currently under construction.
